the concept of a lesbian committing suicide
by jumping into a volcano is not new by a
longshot. the novel concept here is that
same woman carried a pathogen which
caused over 900 other japanese people
to jump into the caldera of that same
volcano the following year. i am not
a superstitious person. however. when
i later discovered that an elderly esper
predicted an eruption that same year
one is forced to reexamine the notion
of human sacrifice and the will of spirits.
